Hollingsworth, Holly H. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1981
If the null hypothesis of a one-sample test of multivariate means is rejected, the dimension of the line joining the population centroid and the hypothesized centroid can be interpreted with a linear function, using a discriminant function and the correlation of each dependent variable with a discriminant score. (Author/BW)

Lawlis, G. Frank; Sweney, Arthur B. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1975
A method of applying the discriminant function to correlated samples was discussed for the researcher interested in utilizing multivariate statistics to pre-post data. By finding the linear combination that maximizes differences in the groups, the t-statistic can be computed for correlated samples. (Author)

Heausler, Nancy L. – 1987
Each of the four classic multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) tests of statistical significance may lead a researcher to different decisions as to whether a null hypothesis should be rejected: (1) Wilks' lambda; (2) Lawley-Hotelling trace criterion; (3) Roy's greatest characteristic root criterion; and (4) Pillai's trace criterion. These…

Tate, Richard L. – 1980
This paper reviews multivariate hypothesis testing, interval estimation, and discriminant analysis procedures for an aptitude-treatment interaction (ATI) analysis and illustrates the procedures with data from a large experimental study of science education at the secondary school level. The treatment variable of interest is time allowed for study…

Hall, Charles E.; And Others – 1973
The VARAN (variance Analysis) program is an addition to a series of computer programs for multivariate analysis of variance. The development of VARAN exploits the full linear model. Analysis of variance, univariate and multivariate, is the program's main target. Correlation analysis of all types is available with printout in the vernacular of…
