Statistical analyses supported two conclusions: (a) The Physiological and Emotional Security subscales of the HSS are highly saturated with psychopathological symptomatology; and (b) the remaining five HSS subscales measure dimensions of clients' psychosocial and vocational adjustment that are relatively independent of psychopathology.
