A series of demonstrations is described that elucidate the operation of commercial fog machines by using common laboratory equipment and supplies. A simple tea infuser is obtained and been used as a container for the dry ice to simulate the effect from high-density dry ice. The tea infuser is a simple, low cost device to allow instructors with access to dry ice makers to effectively use the interesting demonstration.
