Discrimination Learning by Reflective and Impulsive Children as a Function of Reinforcement Schedule
Peer reviewedMassari, David J.; Schack, Mary Lou – Developmental Psychology, 1972
These findings suggest that a high density of negative feedback induces both reflective and impulsive children to make fewer errors than does positive feedback. (Authors)

Responsivity to graded tactile stimuli was examined in human newborns in successive epochs of active and quiet sleep. Heart rate and behavior were both used as response indices. (Author/SS)
Descriptors: Discrimination Learning, Infant Behavior, Neonates, Responses
Peer reviewedYang, Raymond K.; And Others – Developmental Psychology, 1976
Measures of active sleep, quiet sleep, sucking, crying, body size and gestational age were factor analyzed for 137 normal newborns at 2 days of age. The results yielded 3 stable factors: reactivity-irritability, maturity, and reflexive and discriminative sucking. (JMB)
Descriptors: Behavior Patterns, Body Weight, Discrimination Learning, Factor Analysis
Peer reviewedMoody, Mark; Gollin, Eugene S. – Developmental Psychology, 1972
Article attempts to provide guidelines for a systematic approach in dealing with position biases in order to improve the adequacy of decisions about hypothetical statements. (MB)

Peer reviewedHarter, Susan; Zigler, Edward – Developmental Psychology, 1972
The effects of rate of stimulus presentation and reinforcement conditions on the two-choice discrimination learning performance of MA matched normal and familial retarded children were examined. (Authors)

Peer reviewedBaumeister, Alfred A.; Maisto, Albert A. – Developmental Psychology, 1974
Presents a study of paired-associative learning involving a total of 80 preschool and second grade children. Four familiarization categories of pretraining were utilized; results are discussed in terms of the effects of pretraining conditions and age on paired-associative learning and their consistency with some developmental hypotheses and phase…
