Peer reviewedPerry, David G.; Garrow, Helen – Developmental Psychology, 1975
This experiment evaluated the contributions of frequency and contingency of reinforcement to the deprivation-satiation phenomenon. The findings indicated that the perceived contingency of reinforcement is a more powerful determinant of its subsequent reinforcement effectiveness than is its frequency. (JMB)

van Duuren, Esther; Nieto Escamez, Francisco A.; Joosten, Ruud N. J. M. A.; Visser, Rein; Mulder, Antonius B.; Pennartz, Cyriel M. A. – Learning & Memory, 2007
The orbitofrontal cortex (OBFc) has been suggested to code the motivational value of environmental stimuli and to use this information for the flexible guidance of goal-directed behavior. To examine whether information regarding reward prediction is quantitatively represented in the rat OBFc, neural activity was recorded during an olfactory…

Blanton, Richard L.; And Others – 1984
The report presents summaries of 11 studies performed on 25-45 autistic students in a residential center to investigate processes of discrimination and response acquisition using automated reinforcement technology and exact timing procedures. The computer operated display and recording system for language and discrimination training is described…

Peer reviewedCunningham, Thomas F.; Thaller, Karl E. – Child Study Journal, 1975
A total of 128 first- and second-graders participated in two sets of shift problems: (1) four extra-dimensional shifts; and (2) shift problems with two types of cue-reinforcement conditions (same and reversal). (ED)
