Kiers, Henk A. L. – Psychometrika, 1994
A class of oblique rotation procedures is proposed to rotate a pattern matrix so that it optimally resembles a matrix that has an exact simple pattern. It is demonstrated that the method can recover relatively complex simple structures where other simple structure rotation techniques fail. (SLD)

Ogasawara, Haruhiko – Psychometrika, 2002
Derived formulas for the asymptotic standard errors of component loading estimates to cover the cases of principal component analysis for unstandardized and standardized variables with orthogonal and oblique rotations. Used the formulas with a real correlation matrix of 355 subjects who took 12 psychological tests. (SLD)

Ip, Edward H.; Wang, Yuchung J.; de Boeck, Paul; Meulders, Michel – Psychometrika, 2004
Psychological tests often involve item clusters that are designed to solicit responses to behavioral stimuli. The dependency between individual responses within clusters beyond that which can be explained by the underlying trait sometimes reveals structures that are of substantive interest. The paper describes two general classes of models for…

Messick, Samuel – 1994
The traditional concept of validity divides it into three separate types; content, criterion, and construct validities. This view is fragmented and incomplete, failing to take into account evidence of the value implications of score meaning as a basis for action and of the social consequences of score use. The new unified concept of validity…

Carlson, Jerry S.; Dillon, Ronna – Journal of Educational Measurement, 1979
The Matrices and Order of Appearance subtests of a Piagetian test battery were administered to a sample of second-grade children on two occasions under two test conditions: standardized testing and a dialogue between child and examiner. Differences for test condition and time of testing were found. (JKS)

Schaeffer, Gary A.; And Others – 1979
Developmental psychologists have not traditionally documented the psychometric properties of their observational instruments, partly because such concepts as reliability and validity are associated mainly with paper-and-pencil tests. A multitrait-multimethod correlation matrix (MTMM) was presented as a useful method for the psychometric evaluation…
