Examines the preliminary evaluation of self-instructional material in physiology designed as remedial work by medical students. The materials are now used by science, veterinary, dental, and postgraduate medical students and have been distributed to 20 countries. Evaluation results indicate the materials are effective methods of study.

Describes a clinical physiology course designed to teach 40 graduate nursing students scattered over a large, sparsely populated geographic area. The course included the use of self-instructional materials, but with content and evaluation equivalent to an on campus course. Student evaluation of the course is included.
