The efficacy of an Assertive Community Treatment approach in preventing jail recidivism for the mentally ill was compared with that of forensic specialist case management or referral to mental health centers. The satisfaction of 469 parents or guardians and 387 of their children who received mental health services at 22 community agencies in Illinois was assessed with standardized measures and procedures.
