The practice of comprehensive or total patient care at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry student clinics is described. In response to current reviews the system is preparing for innovations designed to enhance the delivery of care and maximize the student educational experience. (MLW)

Six senior dental students participated in a preprosthetic surgery clinic and then performed implant surgery on patients. Patient reactions were highly favorable. Students and faculty found the prosthodontic phase more difficult than the surgical. Program continuation at the predoctoral level is anticipated. (MSE)

The curricular adaptations made at the University of Florida College of Dentistry to accommodate a deaf student are described. Because most of the didactic instructional material was presented in a self-paced audiovisual format, all videotapes were either transcribed or outlined. (MLW)

The University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry, has begun the process of evaluating a strategic plan through the design of a performance evaluation system. A curriculum project to help dental students identify, reason about, and resolve ethical problems applied moral development theory to professional education, an approach not previously used.
