Describes a program in which a university sociology department has integrated advising, curriculum planning, and career guidance using nonfaculty professional academic counselors. The development of the program is described and benefits accruing to both faculty and students are discussed. Problems in program evaluation are noted. (Author/RC)

Examined the effect of orientation in altering concerns of new college students. Measured the change in level of student concern about academics, finances, physical layout, university structure, social integration and identity, housing, and social relationships. A residence hall coed living situation can be an effective setting for men and women to explore issues, attitudes, values, and behaviors related to sex-role exploration.
