Because the year-round school, if adopted, produces change in the way of the lives of students, their parents, school staff, and possibly much of the community, an information dissemination program about the year-round school must be broader, more inclusive, and better planned and executed than any other innovative program in a school district. Guidelines for developing an effective dissemination program include the selection of personnel, the kind of information to present, the people to contact, staff organization, and strategies. Three dissemination phases -- lead up, implementation, and follow up -- are discussed in detail.
