Summarizes the findings of a report on the current status of systems of computer-managed instruction (CMI). Five systems are reviewed intensively and seventeen others are described briefly. CMI appears to offer potential as a management device but little conclusive evidence exists concerning cost-effectiveness or impact on student achievement. (Author/IRT)
