A three-part training model in diagnosing marital and family systems is described. The first unit introduced diagnostic tools and techniques. The second focuses on family systems theory and its relation to diagnosis. The third integrates the derived theory of diagnosing marital and family systems with clinical application. (Author)

This paper describes an application of basic concepts and theory from family life education in a community program for families. Following a review of background theory and philosophy, an action program model is presented and discussed. Experiences with the model are highlighted and implications for future work noted. Following a review of basic educational, social, and health constraints faced by single pregnant adolescents and adolescent parents, an urban community's action program directed to this group is described. The organizational structure of the action program is presented as a model for others to explore. (Author)
