Alkis, Nurcan; Temizel, Tugba Taskaya – Educational Technology & Society, 2018
This study investigates the impact of students' motivation and personality traits on their academic performance in online and blended learning environments. It was conducted with students attending a mandatory introductory information technology course given in a university in Turkey. The Big Five Inventory and Motivated Strategies for Learning…

Peer reviewedChan, Wai; Yung, Yiu-Fai; Bentler, Peter M.; Tang, Man-Lai – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1998
Two bootstrap tests are proposed to test the independence hypothesis in a two-way cross table. Monte Carlo studies are used to compare the traditional asymptotic test with these bootstrap methods, and the bootstrap methods are found superior in two ways: control of Type I error and statistical power. (SLD)

Jovick, Thomas D. – 1978
A Monte Carlo simulation was used to ascertain the degree of inflation that can occur in regression estimates when samples contain randomly occurring instances of a pattern among correlations called cooperative suppression. Ten thousand samples of scores on three variables were randomly drawn from a population in which the correlations among the…

Robey, Randall R.; Barcikowski, Robert S. – 1986
This paper reports the results of a Monte Carlo investigation of Type I errors in the single group repeated measures design where multiple measures are collected from each observational unit at each measurement occasion. The Type I error of three multivariate tests were examined. These were the doubly multivariate F test, the multivariate mixed…
