The article discusses the uses of mechanical vibration for stimulating, rewarding, and suppressing behaviors of multiply handicapped blind children. Suggestions for further research and refinement of the techniques are made. (Author)

The absence of genital stimulation in a 16-year-old severely retarded male (IQ 21) was reinforced with a combination of edibles and a stereotypic behavior. Among results were that edibles alone maintained the reductions in genital stimulation, and that withholding edibles had little effect in reducing the stereotypic behavior. (Author/JW)

The study assessed the effects of a negative practice contingency plus DRO on the self-stimulatory hand-clapping of three developmentally disabled students, aged 6-9.
