The results demonstrate that members of skill groups have different psychological need profiles. Youth Opportunity Center counselors need to become more sensitive to these differences. Further research needs to be conducted to determine whether the need profiles of trainees are similar to the profiles of people successfully employed in the occupation for which training is offered.
