The necessity of postulates of incidence and order is demonstrated by several examples of models for given axiomatic systems. Interdisciplinary interpretations are given. (MP)

The author uses mathematical models that involve only algebra and a few basic ideas in discrete probability to describe the frequency of conception in large human societies. A number of calculations which can be done by students as exercises are given. (MN)

By converting functional equations to cylindrical coordinates, plotting points on cardboard, and connecting these points with thread, one can make three-dimensional string figures illustrating the behavior of functions for which the derivative is not always defined. (SD)

The students in a basic course on probability and statistics in Trinidad demonstrated that the number of fatal highway accidents appeared to follow a Poisson distribution while the length of time between deaths followed exponential distribution. (MN)
