Mainstreamed students should be graded in terms of their growth rather than by comparison with nonhandicapped students. Fair evaluation procedures include determining terminal and enabling objectives; pretesting and functional assessment; monitoring progress; measuring achievement; and transferring the evaluation into a meaningful grade.
