This survey investigated the services offered to older adults by public libraries in northeastern Ohio. Discusses large print books in public libraries in terms of funding, purchasing, the library population that uses these materials, library services and outreach programs, and ways in which to promote these books. Desired improvements in the range of materials available, formats, and physical considerations of large print books are identified. (CLB)

This theme issue discusses the special information needs of older adults and library services designed to meet these needs, especially focusing on the problems of mobility, visual, and hearing impairments. Several contracted projects in Illinois, developed to assess and meet the needs of older adults, are also described and evaluated. (CLB)
