The exchange of self-disclosures was studied in a experimental setting and was found to function in a manner consistent with social exchange theory in both male and female groups of strangers. A positive relationship was found to exist between self disclosure and liking patterns. (Author)

Review of the literature suggests that hair color influences the quality of interpersonal interactions. Results of a factorially designed study show that while women helped confederates equally regardless of their gender, men helped women more than they helped men. Hair color of confederates was not shown to affect helping behavior. (Author/ABB)

Systematic observation methods were used to investigate the nature of communication in a cross-sectional study of 80 dating and engaged couples that were grouped into dating stages of various degrees of commitment.
