Johnstone, John W. C. – Sociology and Social Research, 1978
Self-report data on delinquent behavior, arrests and victimization from a sample of Chicago youth are analyzed in terms of the intersection of family status and area status, indicating that delinquent behavior is linked to status contexts, and offering little support for the contention that delinquency is independent of social position.
