Wisconsin Univ., Madison. Trace Center. – 1987
Severely physically disabled children may need special communication techniques or aids to help them in conversation/interaction and writing. An individual with speech problems may need an augmentative communication system, and selection of the right system, whether non-electronic or electronic, can be a complex process. To assist in the task of…

Herr, Richard B. – 1994
At the University of Delaware student-teacher communication within the classroom was enhanced through the implementation of a versatile, yet cost efficient, application of computer technology. A single microcomputer at a teacher's station controls a network of student keypad/display stations to provide individual channels of continuous…

Hine, Mary Sue; And Others – Journal of Special Education, 1990
Eleven learning-handicapped students, ages 8-13, generated text at microcomputers both alone and as members of dyads. Examination of mechanical errors revealed a lower error rate in the dyad condition compared to working alone. The relationship between error monitoring and the social interaction needed for collaboration is discussed. (Author/JDD)
