Clark, Gilbert – Gifted Child Quarterly, 1989
The article describes development, testing, and use of a new instrument, Clark's Drawing Abilities Test, and its success in screening and/or identifying artistically gifted students. Significant correlations have been found between results from this test, the Children's Embedded Figures Test, and teachers' ratings of pupils. (Author/PB)

Developed from research about and teacher experience with children and creativity, the Creative Processes Rating Scale was tested with 100 sixth graders and found to be an effective instrument (which can be used by teachers with no experience in art) for assessing the creative processes of children in the visual arts.
