Identity orientations and employment histories of 203 women receiving public assistance were examined. Those with informational or passive styles received over 1 year of welfare. Those with diffuse/avoidant styles received welfare for more than 3 years and changed jobs more frequently in the last 12 months. (Contains 37 references.) (SK)

Proposed a revised system of classifying women's careers and applied the proposed system in an investigation of the career patterns of women college graduates (N=498) of the 1960s 10 years after their graduation. Female clerical employees (N=314) in two regional offices of a large insurance company were administered Jackson's Personality Research Form. Turnover data were collected up to eight months following administration of the questionnaire. Relationships were found between employee characteristics and turnover in both samples. (Author)

Differences related to degree aspiration, desired nursing career specialty, and other nursing-related biographical variables were found among the four classes of a sample of 408 full-time non-RN female subjects in a baccalaureate nursing program. These differences were associated with shifts in the work values patterns of the subjects. (Author)
