This ex-post facto study, "Differential Effects of Workplace Readiness Training and Job Placement Services Provided by Vocational Rehabilitation vs. School Transition Programs: A Retrospective Study of Young Hispanic Adults" investigates differential effects of workplace readiness training and job placement services provided by vocational rehabilitation versus local education agency on employment outcomes for young, Hispanic, transition-aged youth with Autism or Intellectual Disabilities. The study examines sustained employment and differences in employment rates for individuals aged 18-23 who participated in work-based learning experiences with job coaches through VR or an LEA. Participants include 30 TAY with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities who exited a transition program in Texas between 2022-2024 and engaged in 12 school weeks of WBLE. Data on demographic variables, job placement details, and employment outcomes was collected retrospectively. This research study aimed to identify best practices approaches to help the collaboration efforts between VR and local education agencies to improve employment transition outcomes for Hispanic TAY youth with disabilities. Findings inform the development of more effective job coaching frameworks and transition programming. This study also addresses gaps in the literature regarding job placement and contributes to the broader understanding of factors influencing successful employment transitions for this population.
