Peer reviewedHenderson, Pamela W.; Buchanan, Bruce – Psychometrika, 1992
An extension is described to a product-testing model to account for misinformation among subjects that would lead them to perform incorrectly on "pick one of two" tests. The model is applied to a data set of 367 subjects picking 1 of 2 colas. Misinformation does exist. (SLD)

Peer reviewedBejar, Isaac I. – Applied Psychological Measurement, 1990
The feasibility of modeling performance on a three-dimensional rotation task within the context of item response theory was examined using 160 high school students. Eighty pairs of three-dimensional Shepard-Metzler figures were used. This approach to psychometric modeling, incorporating research results from cognitive science, appears workable.…

Peer reviewedKranzler, John H.; Jensen, Arthur R. – Intelligence, 1989
A meta-analysis of research on the relationship between inspection time (IT) and IQ was performed. The analysis was designed to determine whether a non-zero relationship between IT and IQ exists, estimate the size of this relationship, and test whether IT is ontogenetically related to "g" (intelligence). (TJH)

Embretson, Susan Whitely – 1982
Latent trait models are presented that can be used for test design in the context of a theory about the variables that underlie task performance. Examples of methods for decomposing and testing hypotheses about the theoretical variables in task performance are given. The methods can be used to determine the processing components that are involved…
