Examined the effect of perceived problem-solving ability among teacher trainees (N=60) operationalized by the Problem Solving Inventory (PSI) and random feedback (success vs. failure) on participants' attributions. Results indicate a significant PSI x Feedback interaction for ability and effort but not for task difficulty and luck. (RJM)

Presents an intervention designed to overcome some of the difficulties rural parents encounter in accessing services for young children with behavior problems. Results, based on 24 parents, indicate that children in a treatment group had lower levels of behavior problems and that parents reported increased levels of parenting competence. (RJM)

Explores how theories concerning socialization mechanisms may be operationalized and tested. Provides a preliminary test of this strategy using 57 boys being treated for conduct problems. Results indicate that the role of both negative reinforcement and affect dysregulation play a part in the development of a child's antisocial behavior. (RJM)
