Analyses of data from professional training study show that more than 8,000 B.S. chemists graduated in 1973. Tables showing trends from 1969 through 1973 for number of graduates in the chemical fields and giving a full breakdown by degree level and by field for 509 ACS-approved schools are included. (DT)

A study of the 184 chemistry departments in the United States that offered the Ph.D. degree in 1973 showed that two-thirds had no women on their faculties. Other statistics concerning women's representation on chemistry faculties are presented and discussed. (DT)
