Peer reviewedBucher, Bradley – Journal of Experimental Child Psychology, 1975
Two experiments examined conditions under which complex discriminative behaviors could be established and maintained by reinforcement given concurrently for performance at related tasks. Results indicated that durable stimulus control of oddity responding could be obtained for two cue dimensions for which oddity responding was never reinforced.…

Peer reviewedKoegel, Robert L.; Schreibman, Laura – Journal of Experimental Child Psychology, 1977
In order to investigate the hypothesis that autistic children tend to learn new discriminations by responding to only a restricted number of available cues, this study assessed the feasibility of teaching autistic children to respond to multiple cues. (SB)

Peer reviewedLarson, Stephen; Hudson, Floyd G. – Child Development, 1973
Studied the relationship between auditory ability and oral form discrimination in children with varying degrees of speech and language development. Results lend support to motor theory of speech perception. (ST)

Peer reviewedCohen, Mark E.; Heller, Tamar – Journal of Experimental Child Psychology, 1975
On discrimination learning trials which allowed subjects to press an information key when in doubt, retarded children made significantly more presses than control groups. Results confirmed the hypothesis that retarded children would be more outerdirected than normal children in a situation in which distractibility could not play a role. (Author/GO)

Peer reviewedGreenfield, Daryl; And Others – Journal of Experimental Child Psychology, 1974
Twelve moderately retarded children were trained on 2-choice visual discrimination problems with interpolation of another item between training and retention tests. Results indicated that well-learned items are rehearsed less. (SBT)

Ascione, Frank R.; Burchard, John D. – 1971
Through an experimental analysis, this study demonstrates characteristics of both observer-produced and punishment-produced suppression of cheating behavior. The research procedure, designed to eliminate the interpretative difficulties of prior, comparable research, is fully elaborated. Two delinquent, retarded, adolescent boys served as subjects.…

Sachs, David A. – 1972
Three studies, using handicapped children, investigated: effects of three different reinforcement contingencies (positive reinforcement, removal of positive reinforcement, and combination of positive reinforcement and removal of positive reinforcement) on a steady-state discrimination task; effect of a conditioned emotional response procedure on a…
