Xiang Che; Jiayue Ma; Yu Zhang; Chen Zhou; Qian Zhou; Kun Zhang; Jijun Lan; Qi Hui; Jie Li – Cognitive Research: Principles and Implications, 2025
Classical two-dimensional multiple object tracking (2D-MOT) measures the cognitive ability to track multiple moving elements in real-life-like scenarios. Stereo-three-dimensional MOT (S-3D-MOT), a more ecologically valid form of 2D-MOT, shows better tracking performance in soccer players. Its unique feature is the additional binocular and…

Newmeister, Gayla Hansen – Research Quarterly, 1977
A visually directed sensory motor training program with a 30-day duration did not enhance the depth perception of five-year-old children. (MM)
Descriptors: Children, Depth Perception, Motor Development, Perceptual Motor Learning
Peer reviewedLight, P. H.; MacIntosh, E. – Journal of Experimental Child Psychology, 1980
Young children drew two opaque objects placed one behind the other. Over two-thirds of the children drew the objects separately in horizontal or vertical relationships. When drawing an object in a glass beaker, half of the children depicted the object vertically or horizontally separate from the beaker. (Author/DB)

Peer reviewedRichards, John E.; Rader, Nancy – Journal of Experimental Psychology: Human Perception and Performance, 1981
Two experiments tested the effects of crawling-onset age, amount of crawling experience, and testing age on avoidance of the deep side of a visual cliff apparatus by human infants. Crawling-onset age disciminated between infants because crawling during the tactile phase interferes with later visual control of locomotion. (Author/RD)
Descriptors: Depth Perception, Infant Behavior, Infants, Motor Development
MANGRUM, CHARLES T. – 1967
SIGNIFICANT RESEARCH ON THE PHYSIOLOGICAL AND FUNCTIONAL ASPECTS OF VISION AND READING DISABILITY IS SURVEYED. CONCLUSIONS BASED ON THE LITERATURE IN THE FIELD ARE DISCUSSED. A BIBLIOGRAPHY OF 70 REFERENCES AND A GLOSSARY OF TERMS ARE APPENDED. A TABLE SUMMARIZING REFRACTIVE ERRORS AND EYE DEFECTS CONTRIBUTING TO READING DISABILITY IS INCLUDED.…

Crawford, Connie M. – 1995
In 1988, 59 Kindergarten students were studied to determine the effect of "shadowing" on perceptual-motor learning. Shadowing is a method whereby the use of one's shadow provides visual feedback. The method developed from observing children's natural curiosity in creating shadows. Illuminated by sunlight outdoors or overhead projectors…
