Energy Management Technology, 1985
To maintain good light quality while attempting to reduce energy costs, the University of Illinois (Chicago) investigated a variety of light-related cutbacks. An inexpensive, quickly installed current-limiting device (NO-WATT manufactured by Remtec Systems) on 1000 fixtures resulted in energy savings of $18,000 annually. (DH)

Deriso, Jerald L. – American School and University, 1984
Comparisons are drawn between budgeted maintenance and operations costs for 1983-84 and the preceding 2 years' actual costs. Also provided is a summary of a 10-year comparison of net current expenditures per student, compared with maintenance and operations costs per student. Data are presented for 10 geographical regions. (MLF)

Meredith, T. J. – American School and University, 1981
School districts during 1980-81 again incurred maintenance and operations cost increases at a higher rate than inflation. Data from individual school districts are divided into 10 geographical regions for computation of regional averages. The districts are also divided into seven size categories that do not reflect regional influences. (Author/MLF)

Marsee, Jeff – 1979
After reviewing the physical plant environment and temperature control equipment at Eastfield College (Texas), this paper explains how redirected efforts toward energy conservation can result in important cost/usage savings. Electricity billing rates are explained to provide a stronger usage strategy for cost effectiveness. Two methods of reducing…
