Seventy-three subjects tested at grade 4 were retested at grade 7 on five tasks. In addition, 138 seventh graders were tested on these tasks for the first time. A regression equation relating verbal and full-scale IQs was derived from scores of patients. Scores were highly correlated, and verbal IQ significantly exceeded full-scale IQ. Using a Monte Carlo simulation, a bootstrap procedure was evaluated for setting a confidence interval on the unrestricted population correlation (rho) assuming various degrees of incomplete truncation on the predictor. In 2 studies with 85 and 88 undergraduates, respectively, peripheral nerve conduction velocity (NCV) was significantly correlated with IQ score and reaction times, and NCV and reaction time contributed significantly, in combination, to prediction of IQ.
