Willson, Victor L. – 1977
A major deficiency in classical test theory is the reliance on Pearson product-moment (PPM) correlation concepts in the definition of reliability. PPM measures are totally insensitive to first moment differences in tests which leads to the dubious assumption of essential tan-equivalence. Robinson proposed a measure of agreement that is sensitive…

Hashway, Robert M. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1978
ANALYSIS, a FORTRAN computer program developed as an aid to investigation of and instruction in the psychometric properties of test items, is described. The program utilizes both correlational and analysis of variance approaches to classical item analysis. (Author/JKS)

Rubin, Donald B.; Thayer, Dorothy – Psychometrika, 1978
A procedure is developed for estimating correlations among new tests when non-overlapping sub-samples each are administered a different new test and all sub-samples are administered a set of standard tests. (JKS)

Bejar, Issac I.; Weiss, David J. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1977
The reliabilities yielded by several differential option weighting scoring procedures were compared among themselves as well as against conventional testing. It was found that increases in reliability due to differential option weighting were a function of inter-item correlations. Suggestions for the implementation of differential option weighting…

Knapp, Robert R.; And Others – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1977
Test-retest reliability coefficients for the brief Career Ability Placement Survey and concurrent validity correlations against the Differential Aptitude Tests and the General Aptitude Test Battery are presented for samples of ninth and tenth grade students. (Author/JKS)

Henry, Paul; Bardo, Harold R. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1987
This study examined the predictive validity of the Developing Cognitive Abilities Test (DCAT), a test similar in form to traditional intelligence tests but developed along a format that included both a cognitive taxonomy and content areas. Students in fourth through twelfth grades were administered the DCAT and the Achievement Series Test.…

Su, Ra-Van; Yerxa, Elizabeth J. – Occupational Therapy Journal of Research, 1984
This study compared the test-retest reliability of the Southern California Sensory Integration Tests and the Luria-Nebraska Neuropsychological Battery--Children's Version. Both sets were administered twice to a group of 30 dysfunctional eight-year-old children. Findings are discussed in relation to reliability coefficients for normal as well as…

Joe, George W.; Woodward, J. Arthur – Psychometrika, 1976
This article is concerned with estimation of components of maximum generalizability in multifacet experimental designs involving multiple dependent measures. An example of a two-facet partially nested design is provided. (Author/RC)

A direct proof is given for the generalized Spearman-Brown formula for any real multiple of test length. (Author)

Williams, Richard H.; Zimmerman, Donald W. – Journal of Experimental Education, 1982
A mathematical link between test reliability and test validity is derived, taking into account the correlation between error scores on a test and error scores on a criterion measure. When this correlation is positive, the "paradoxical" nonmonotonic relation between test reliability and test validity occurs universally. (Author/BW)

Kraemer, Helena Chmura – Psychometrika, 1981
Limitations and extensions of Feldt's approach to testing the equality of Cronbach's alpha coefficients in independent and matched samples are discussed. In particular, this approach is used to test equality of intraclass correlation coefficients. (Author)

Harris, Robert M., Jr.; Salomone, Paul R. – Measurement and Evaluation in Guidance, 1981
Integrates a review of Rotter's theory with an analysis of the design and development of locus of control scales, and tests the reliability and validity of an abbreviated version of Rotter's Locus of Control Scale which provides practitioners with an instrument less confusing than other locus of control scales. (Author)

Piedmont, Ralph L.; Sherman, Martin F.; Sherman, Nancy C.; Williams, Joseph E. G. – Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development, 2003
This study examined the psychometrics of the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV Personality Disorders Personality Questionnaire (SCID-IIP) self-report personality questionnaire. The responses to the instrument were found reliable and evidenced good self-other convergence. Correlations with external criteria showed the SCID-IIP to contain…
