Keppler, Hannah; Degeest, Sofie; Vinck, Bart – Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research, 2021
Purpose: The objective of the current study was to investigate the short-term test-retest reliability of contralateral suppression (CS) of click-evoked otoacoustic emissions (CEOAEs) using commercially available otoacoustic emission equipment. Method: Twenty-three young normal-hearing subjects were tested. An otoscopic evaluation, admittance…

Kilgus, Stephen P.; Eklund, Katie; Maggin, Daniel M.; Taylor, Crystal N.; Allen, Amanda N. – Journal of Emotional and Behavioral Disorders, 2018
The purpose of this study was to conduct reliability and validity generalization meta-analyses of evidence regarding the "Student Risk Screening Scale" (SRSS), a universal screener for externalizing behavior problems. A systematic review of the literature resulted in the identification of 17 studies inclusive of evidence regarding SRSS…

Tanner, Nicholas; Eklund, Katie; Kilgus, Stephen P.; Johnson, Austin H. – School Psychology Review, 2018
Data derived from universal screening procedures are increasingly utilized by schools to identify and provide additional support to students at risk for behavioral and emotional concerns. As screening has the potential to be resource intensive, effort has been placed on the development of efficient screening procedures, including brief behavior…

Lee, Ming; Wimmers, Paul F. – Advances in Health Sciences Education, 2016
Although problem-based learning (PBL) has been widely used in medical schools, few studies have attended to the assessment of PBL processes using validated instruments. This study examined reliability and validity for an instrument assessing PBL performance in four domains: Problem Solving, Use of Information, Group Process, and Professionalism.…

Benton, Stephen L.; Li, Dan – IDEA Center, Inc., 2015
Most institutions of higher education have some system in place for collecting student ratings of instruction (SRI) data from classes on a systematic basis. SRIs are a relatively simple way of gauging student perceptions of teaching and the course. Since the initial development of IDEA SRI in 1975, much has changed about higher education. Many…

Sawaki, Yasuyo; Sinharay, Sandip – ETS Research Report Series, 2013
This study investigates the value of reporting the reading, listening, speaking, and writing section scores for the "TOEFL iBT"® test, focusing on 4 related aspects of the psychometric quality of the TOEFL iBT section scores: reliability of the section scores, dimensionality of the test, presence of distinct score profiles, and the…

Peer reviewedBargmann, Rolf – Journal of Educational Statistics, 1989
Use of internal correlation for statistical analysis--as proposed by G. W. Joe and J. L. Mendoza (1989)--is discussed. Use of the bootstrap technique to deal with the distributional problem is questioned. Joe and Mendoza attempt the interpretation of the two linear composites that produce the largest internal correlation. (TJH)

Peer reviewedSchuenemeyer, John H. – Journal of Educational Statistics, 1989
The use of internal correlation for statistical analysis, as proposed by G. W. Joe and J. L. Mendoza (1989), is discussed. The suggestion of using bootstrapping is received well. Applications to collinearity are suggested. (TJH)

Peer reviewedJoe, George W.; Mendoza, Jorge L. – Journal of Educational Statistics, 1989
A response to comments on internal correlation for statistical analysis, as proposed by the present authors (1989), is provided. Focus is on issues raised by W. W. Rozeboom (1989). Comments by J. H. Schuenemeyer (1989) and R. Bargmann (1989) are briefly considered. (TJH)

Peer reviewedJoe, George W.; Mendoza, Jorge L. – Journal of Educational Statistics, 1989
The internal correlation--a measure of dependency in a set of variables--is discussed and generalized. Applications of the internal correlation coefficient and its generalizations are given for several data-analytic situations. The internal correlation is illustrated and the concept is expanded to a series of additional indices. (TJH)

Peer reviewedRozeboom, William W. – Journal of Educational Statistics, 1989
Use of internal correlation for statistical analysis--proposed by G. W. Joe and J. L. Mendoza (1989)--is discussed. Focus is on the "content" question (what this application can do with the information that statistics contain) and the "eloquence" question (the advantages of this means of encoding information over other means). (TJH)
