In the transition between the industrial and the information ages, preparation of pupils to access and apply information that does not presently exist is the challenge to all educators. Four major areas of microcomputer application related to special education (tool application, computer-assisted instruction, computer-managed instruction, and computer literacy) are evaluated. (MT)
