The results of the present study suggested that PPVT and SIT IQs are not directly comparable to the WISC-R IQs when the moderate to low correlation coefficents are considered. In addition, the SIT appears to be more comparable to the WISC-R than does either Form A or Form B of the PPVT. (Author)

Peer reviewedSchwarting, F. Gene; Schwarting, Kathleen R. – Psychology in the Schools, 1977
So as to compare predicted achievement based upon WISC-R IQs and observed achievement by the WRAT standard scores, both instruments were administered by the same school psychologist to 282 urban students referred for psychological evaluation. The correlations obtained were substantial. (Author)

Peer reviewedKrieger, Seth R.; And Others – Omega: Journal of Death and Dying, 1979
In an attempt to assess a person's orientation toward death, a self-administered form of the Threat Index (TI) was introduced and compared to the original interview form along dimensions of validity, reliability, internal consistency, and independence from social desirability response sets. Results supported theoretical and psychometric soundness…

Peer reviewedRichmond, Bert O.; Long, Marvin – Journal of School Psychology, 1977
The data suggest that the WISC-R Verbal, Performance, and Full scales are almost equally lacking in racial bias and that all three scales are less biased than the PPVT. If the PPVT is used for initial screening, it will be important to follow up with a more thorough psychological evaluation. (Author)
