The Behavior Problem Checklist was used to assess the prevalence of behavior problems in deaf children (N=192) and compare these results to earlier studies of hearing and hearing-impaired children. Results were more consistent with past findings among children with no hearing problems. (Author/RC)

Teacher ratings on the Behavior Problem Checklist of adolescents who were clinically diagnosed as schizophrenic (psychotic) and those who had an adjustment reaction of adolescence (nonpsychotic) were compared. The schizophrenics tended to be rated as more deviant on both the flag items and Inadequacy-Immaturity dimensions of the checklist. (Author)

The subscales of the Bristol Social Adjustment Guides are compared with those of the Behavior Problem Checklist so as to test the hypothesis of a two-factor structure in these rating scales. The specificity of each subtest was also investigated. (Author/GK)

Lindholm, Byron W.; And Others – Journal of School Psychology, 1978
Compared black (N=614) and white (N=1,162) children on the Behavior Problem Checklist. Blacks were judged to have a greater frequency of behavior disorders than whites. A number of interactions of race with other variables were found, and their meanings are discussed. (Author)

Relationships between mothers' ratings and teacher nominations for aggressive and withdrawn behavior were examined in a sample of 40 Cuban American male secondary school students. Results were consistent with the extensive concurrent and construct validity of the Behavior Problem Checklist. (CM)
