Peer reviewedStevens, J. R.; Winegard, W. C. – American Journal of Physics, 1971
Describes a one semester introductory physics course for physical science students with PSSC and calculus as prerequisites. Course content concentrates on the properties of the electron, positron, andphoton. Summarizes the student evaluation of the course and the laboratory equipment used. (Author/DS)

Peer reviewedBordass, W. T.; Linnett, J. W. – Journal of Chemical Education, 1970
Describes how the isometric projection with a transparent grid showing the x, y, and z axes drawn at 120 degrees each other is used. This method of presenting atomic orbitals was developed using the Cambridge University Titan computer and has the advantage over contour maps in that there is no distortion. (LS)

Peer reviewedSanderson, R. T. – Journal of Chemical Education, 1974
Voices the opinion that clearer and more useful explanations of common chemistry are needed to facilitate understanding. Presents examples from the realms of atomic structure, periodic table, history of chemistry, valence, electronegativity, electrode potentials, covalent bonds, polar covalence, bond energy, and causes of chemical change. (GS)

The question of whether modern experiments are limited by the uncertainty principle or by the instruments used to perform the experiments is discussed. Several key experiments show that the instruments limit our knowledge and the principle remains of strictly academic concern. (DF)
