Thomas Donovan Cullen – ProQuest LLC, 2021
Almost 70% of college students in California are required to take at least one remedial education course in mathematics or English, and of those students, only 40% continue to succeed in their educational goals of transfer or receiving a degree ("Student Success Scorecard," n.d.). Siadat, M. Vali – AMATYC Review, 2006
In terms of modern pedagogy, having visual interpretation of trigonometric functions is useful and quite helpful. This paper presents, pictorially, an easy approach to prove all single angle trigonometric identities on the axes. It also discusses the application of axial representation in calculus--finding the derivative of trigonometric functions.

Sworder, Steven C. – Online Submission, 2007
An experimental two-track intermediate algebra course was offered at Saddleback College, Mission Viejo, CA, between the Fall, 2002 and Fall, 2005 semesters. One track was modeled after the existing traditional California community college intermediate algebra course and the other track was a less rigorous intermediate algebra course in which the…

Osler, Thomas J.; Chandrupatla, Tirupathi R. – AMATYC Review, 2005
Several formulae for the inradius of various types of triangles are derived. Properties of the inradius and trigonometric functions of the angles of Pythagorean and Heronian triangles are also presented. The entire presentation is elementary and suitable for classes in geometry, precalculus mathematics and number theory.
