A Little Funding Can Go a Long Way for Comprehensive School Physical Activity Programs
Sheri Beeler; Carol Cox
Strategies: A Journal for Physical and Sport Educators, v38 n1 p35-41 2025
Evidence supports increasing student physical activity in school, and Comprehensive School Physical Activity Programs (CSPAPs) can help students meet national physical activity goals to support their physical and mental health. Although strategies and frameworks are readily available to support schools in their efforts to implement successful programs, funding can often be a challenge. This article describes how two state school health organizations collaborated to stretch a very small amount of funding to create CSPAPs in 10 schools throughout a Midwest state by creating a mini-grant program.
