A creative exchange program between the art department and the creative writing and English department of two high schools is described. The creative writing class submitted their original poems to advanced art seminar students. The poems provided the foundation for an illustration assignment. Examples of the results are provided. A cross-age art project involving second graders and high school students is described. Each group investigated the design qualities of several popular picture books and then wrote their own stories. The second graders had to illustrate the high school stories and vice versa. It was a tremendous success. (RM)
