Summarizes the findings of a survey that gathered data on the status of topographic map acquisition programs in academic libraries. Forty-nine of the 85 libraries queried supplied data on collection development methods, priorities and funding, and problems of acquiring topographic maps. Twenty references are cited. (FM)

Trends indicate most academic libraries get funding from their own universities and in some instances from substantial gifts and endowments.
