Turning the Ideal into Reality: Student Perspectives on "Blueprint III's" Implications for Graduate Education in Consultation
Collins, Amanda Smith; Proctor, Sherrie L.
Journal of Educational & Psychological Consultation, v19 n3 p267-274 2009
"School Psychology: A Blueprint for Training and Practice III" ("Blueprint III"; Ysseldyke et al., 2006) represents a model for future school psychology instruction and practice. This model illustrates how, along a continuum of skill development from "novice" to "expert," school psychologists can develop professional competencies that support their role as multiskilled professionals who effect change at the individual, classroom, and systems levels. From the authors' perspective as students, "Blueprint III" affects expectations for what Daly (2007) called the "two spheres" of school psychology training: coursework and fieldwork.
