Microcounseling Versus Human Relations Training: Relative Effectiveness with Undergraduate Trainees
Toukmanian, Shake G.; Rennie, David L.
Journal of Counseling Psychology, 22, 4, 345-351, Jul 75
Twelve human relations training subjects received training in Carkhuff's seven core counselor conditions. Twelve microcounseling subjects were trained in use of attending behavior, minimal activity responses, verbal following behavior, open inquiry, and reflection of feeling. Microcounseling subjects gained significantly more on empathy than did human relations training subjects. (Author)
