By assessing the competitive performance of schizophrenics on different types of tasks and by using nonschizophrenic groups, an attempt was made to determine more accurately whether schizophrenics respond differently to competition than nonschizophrenics, and if the effects of competition tend to be task-specific with schizophrenics.
