An experimental seminar in language was given in spring 1973 at Bowdoin College. The final project was creation, in groups of four or five, of an artificial language. The languages had to have a demonstrable grammatical form, some idiomatic content, and a clear orthographic and phonetic system. (Author/RM)

An intensive French course, offered as an experimental summer course at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, was a learning experience in which students were intrinsically motivated. Assumptions of Frank M. Grittner concerning motivating students in language programs are discussed. (SW)

A new program at Boston University that identifies students who would have great difficulty fulfilling their foreign language requirement is described. This program offers an alternative sequence of courses designed to help these students achieve foreign language learning success. (LMO)
