Peer reviewedKeselman, H. J.; And Others – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1981
This paper demonstrates that multiple comparison tests using a pooled error term are dependent on the circularity assumption and shows how to compute tests which are insensitive (robust) to this assumption. (Author/GK)

Peer reviewedYarnold, Paul R. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1984
Unreliable profiles impose the difficulty that ordinal and interval relations among the individual's scores become uncertain or unstable. A profile reliability coefficient is derived to estimate the relative expected extent of this ordinal and interval "inversion" for any profile of K measures. (Author/DWH)

Peer reviewedGlasnapp, Douglas R. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1984
The concept of change is related to suppressor variable conditions in a least square regression model. The domain of conditions necessary for a weighted change score composite to emerge as an underlying construct is mapped and the information loss through arbitrary assignment of weights to a change composite is explored. (Author/BW)

Peer reviewedBird, Kevin D. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1991
A method is outlined for analysis of the shape of an individual profile of scores on a standardized test battery. The method uses a simultaneous test procedure allowing for an overall test of profile flatness, with follow-up tests on all contrasts of interest. (SLD)
