Middle schoolers move into high school with mixed feelings of apprehension and excitement, but generally hopeful of graduating in four years. Transition programs that support students most effectively provide different activities that help students to start on the road to high school success.

The crucial objective of the transitional curriculum is to make only a small intended change at a time, uncomplicated by other considerations. To illustrate, an elementary science curriculum is presented that features an inquiry approach with the pupils handling materials. (Author/MLF)

An interactive transition plan is a document that a student with disabilities makes with the assistance of friends, family members, or school personnel.
