PSQM--Reflections of a PSQM Hub Leader
Johnson, Sue
Education in Science, n241 p10-11 Feb 2011
Primary Science Quality Mark Scheme is a joint project led by the Association for Science Education, the national network of Science Learning Centres and Barnet Local Authority. The Primary Science Quality Mark is an award scheme to develop and celebrate the quality of science teaching and learning in primary schools. It encourages teachers to let students take responsibility in driving their learning forwards in science, which is a great skill to encourage at any age. 78 schools took part in the 2-year pilot phase of the scheme. In 2010-11, 229 schools across England and in British Forces Schools in Germany are taking part. The schools are organised into 41 hubs led by trained PSQM hub leaders. This article accounts the experience of one of the PSQM hub leaders, based at Humphry Davy School, Penzance.
