Kernaghan, John A.; And Others – College and Research Libraries, 1979
This study on the relationship between user preferences, library characteristics, and library use, employed a sample of 655 students in five medical schools. Drake, Miriam A. – College and Research Libraries, 1977
Universities conduct a variety of cost-allocation studies that require the collection and analysis of the library cost-data. Cost accounting methods are used in most studies; however, costs are attributed to library user groups in a variety of ways. Cost accounting studies are reviewed and allocation methods are discussed. (Author)
Descriptors: College Libraries, Cost Effectiveness, Data Analysis, Library Expenditures

Oberg, Larry R. – College and Research Libraries, 1988
Describes the conspectus collection evaluation process and its utility to smaller libraries, as demonstrated by the Library and Information Resources for the Northwest project. The discussion includes the costs of this method in staff time, the value of a completed conspectus, and problems with the methodology. (13 notes with references) (CLB)
Descriptors: Cost Effectiveness, Data Analysis, Data Collection, Evaluation Methods

Rao, Pal V. – College and Research Libraries, 1982
Investigates relationship between number of card catalog access points provided for a group of randomly selected education book titles in academic library and number of times the same titles circulated in specified period of time. Research method, sample selection, and data collection and analysis are discussed. Twelve references are provided.…

MacDonald, Robin W.; Elrod, J. McRee – College and Research Libraries, 1973
A method of developing computer catalogs is proposed which does not require unit card conversion but rather the accumulation of data from operating programs. It is proposed that the bibliographic and finding functions of the catalog be separated, with the latter being the first automated. (8 references) (Author)
Descriptors: Catalogs, Computers, Data Processing, Library Automation

Lynden, Frederick C. – College and Research Libraries, 1988

(22 references) (CLB)
